About this lesson

Reflecting decades of work, Herman students Anna Racicot and Gabrielle Herbertson organized, edited and compiled two books containing hundreds of Herman’s lessons. The books, Earth Journey I and Earth Journey II, are the source of most of the weekly lessons published on this site.
Each of the books contains more than 100 photos of Herman’s paintings, an introduction detailing the history and suggested use of the lessons, and an appendix that contains additional information about the communities practices.
Both books are available for sale through the Earth Journey organization’s online store.
A Herman Rednick Lesson
The bud of a rose is a concentration of energy reaching with intensity toward the sun power, drawing nourishment from the earth and water, and with silent intensity pulling on the energy of the sun. It grows steadily. The con- centration never wavers until it reaches full bloom. There is a burst of song and radiation and then the spirit is ready to leave because the cycle is complete.
With man, in his youth, he is concentrated — reaching out to manhood and maturity, and his predestined cycle is in full expression. But man has the power to create another cycle beyond the destined one and so extend his life and useful service on the spiritual path. He can create another pattern in his psyche which will continue to energize the body and with silent intensity pull on the power and forces of the sun.
There is danger in letting go of your ideal. The body begins to disintegrate and the mind begins to go into abstraction. This is the negative effect of retirement.
The secret is to be in a state of silent intensity and every moment reaching up toward Shamballa. The golden thread must never be slack. It must be taut and vibrating with your spiritual sound. One should not wait until old age to use this method of making your psychic pattern clear and strong. Fill it with the energy of your aspiration and make it a strong magnetic focal point of your life.
