About this lesson

Reflecting decades of work, Herman students Anna Racicot and Gabrielle Herbertson organized, edited and compiled two books containing hundreds of Herman’s lessons. The books, Earth Journey I and Earth Journey II, are the source of most of the weekly lessons published on this site.
Each of the books contains more than 100 photos of Herman’s paintings, an introduction detailing the history and suggested use of the lessons, and an appendix that contains additional information about the communities practices.
Both books are available for sale through the Earth Journey organization’s online store.
A Herman Rednick Lesson
Let us talk about maya. 1. It is part of the process that is necessary for humanity. Maya is negative thoughtforms that are inherited, but this condition is not a permanent part of our psyche; it seems to be because every second it is vibrating and sustaining itself in the mind and body, mak- ing us believe it is a reality.
When we move to our true center we counteract this hypnotic influence. We can do this through an opposing intensity of a spiritual thoughtform. When our purpose has a concentrated intensity, the negative forces of maya will let go and loosen their grip on your psyche. This is the be- ginning of freedom. This can be accomplished over a long period by a gradual, mild meditation or you can take the short road through an intensity concentrated and dedicat- ed through love.
1. Maya – originally a Hindu concept referring to the existence in the world of illusion, created both by the senses and by the mind through humanity’s long history.
